Called by God

In 2002, the Lord called me to preach His Word — but like Jonah, I ran. I had my own plans and my own path. Yet even in my running, God never stopped speaking.

Years later, around 2010, He reminded me once again of His calling:

“I’ve called you to preach My Word.”

This time, I surrendered. At that moment, while working for a major airline, I asked God how I could possibly learn and where I should go to school. His answer was simple and life-changing:

“Who knows My Word better than Me? I will teach you My Word.”

At that moment I was in agreement with Him. I was working for a major airline at the time so I asked Him how, when and where do I go to school? He said this to me “who knows My word better than Me, I will teach you My word” I’ve never looked back since. Our first bible study came October 2011 in our home, I was terrified because I was so new to His word and all that came with with it. I had to lean on Him because I didn’t know what to do next. One of the first scriptures that he taught me to read and meditate over and over was

"Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths."

To this day I live by this scripture it has helped me ways I can’t begin to explain. God is worthy to praised so I praise and thank Him for being patient with me through this process. We need God’s authentic word not watered down “man’s interpretation” but the real honest gospel as He means it. I desire the glory of God more than the praise of men. I’ve been married to my lovely wife since August 1990 we have two grown children and 5 grandkids. I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon fishing and playing sports. My job is to feed His sheep, that’s what He told me to do so here we are. This is another avenue that the Lord has opened up to share His word.I look forward to working with you as we grow in God’s word!
